How Sports Translates to Commercial Real Estate

My experience in the CRE world has been very relatable to my playing days as an athlete. After college and professional baseball, my natural thought was to get into coaching at some level. I enjoy staying connected with the game and mentoring young athletes, as I was in their shoes once and it is very satisfying to be able to pass along knowledge/advice and ultimately see them reach their own goals. Instead of staying in my comfort zone and sticking with something I knew like the “back of my hand”, I wanted a new challenge … I wanted to learn something new and start building a different career- that is where real estate came into play. I have always had an interest in real estate, from watching my mom practice on the residential side for years to being so engaged in my uncle’s conversations about his commercial properties in Charleston, SC.

My playing days are over but many lessons I learned in my baseball career have followed me into my CRE career. This business requires hard work, discipline, the drive to succeed, and many more traits. I enjoy working with a business or a property owner, from start to finish and helping them find the best possible fit for their needs. The relationships you build throughout the process are very rewarding and, at the end of the day, it is all about teamwork. Speaking of team, I have an amazing group of colleagues and mentors behind me that I can learn from, each and every day. Now that is what I call a TEAM! This is a very competitive and fast-paced industry, but this was exactly what I was looking for!
